Bluetooth Mouse Issue/Problem

Question:
Bluetooth Mouse Issue/Problem
Just started using a Kensington BT mini mouse and its quite nice. Problem is that recognition of the mouse by the laptop appears to be not "automatic" unless the touchpad is disabled (a situation I discovered accidentally when i loaded the Kensington Mouseworks software). Everytime I want to use the mouse, it seems I have to manually make the connection in the Dell bluetooth settings dialog, and also set the mouse to be "discovered." Any insights? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround? The Dell bluetooth software correctly identifies the mouse as Kensington, but if I go into Control Panel the device is listed as unknown.

Re: Bluetooth Mouse Issue/Problem
Not sure what the problem may be. I use an Logitech BT mouse and I paired it once and rarely have any problems. Once in a while, when I first start the computer it fails to pair but all I have to do is pull the battery and put it back in and it syncs right up. This maybe happens once every 10 times I start the computer. My touchpad is active all the time and has never seemed to cause a problem.

I would suggest updating your drivers for your BT card. Also, try re-installing the software for the BT mouse. :) That is about all I can think of at the moment. :(

Also, try re-installing the software for the BT mouse. :) That is about all I can think of at the moment. :( I will check but updating the Dell Toshiba BT stack as the first thing I did. Installing the mouse software is a bad idea in this case...there is no specific driver for the Kensington BT mouse...when I installed it the first time is when I discovered it disabled the touchpad (scared the s*** out of me since until the BT mouse came online automatically in a couple of minutes there was no cursor movement at all).
I may just reinstall the BT stack one more time to see what happens.
