Question:
Bloatware????
Hi guys
Apologies if this is wrong directory to post it, but I guess this relates to Sager / Asus so it made sense to me.
Since I have never owned a laptop from any of the boutique stores (Sager, Asus), I was just wondering do they install any bloatware on the brand new computers, like Dell and HP does. because my friends owns Dell and HP and the amount of bloatware on that thing is unbelievable. It slows the S***T out the system.
I am guessing probably not, since these are supposed to be top notch systems.
Please let me know
Thanks

Re: Bloatware????
Simple answer...NO
The only thing that will be installed is the OS if you order one, and the drivers, and DVD viewing and DVD/CD burning software.
Other software comes with PowerPro, Crown and ASUS machines, but it is up to the end user to install it if they want it. Sager does not include additional software beyond what I mentioned above.

Why do Dell and HP put bloat ware on their computers if everyone hates it so much?

Re: Bloatware????
It is marketing scam. These companies like AOL, Eathlink, etc pay them to do that and we, the end users, are suffering because of that.
Well, not me, because I just placed my order for S96J with Powernoteboooks.com. I will post my excellent buying impressions in separate thread

Re: Bloatware????
AOL is the worst software on the market. Correct, HP, Sony are paid to install it. Dell is one of the worst companies notorious for bloatware . .
Fortunately, as stated, there is no bloatware junk found Sagers. Nero CD Burner OEM suite and WinDVD came on mine; both very useful IMO.

Re: Bloatware????
They get paid to put the extra software on the PC. this, combined with buying cheaper parts and buying them in huge batches, allows them to price the PC lower than other people. and the average consumer only looks at "this is cheaper than that"

Re: Bloatware????
Well, If you have the time, and the price is signifigantly lower, I don't think taking off the bloatware is so bad.
Also, vasylko, could you post the name of your thread so I can find it easily. Thanks

Re: Bloatware????
Sure.
I have not done it yet. :( However, when I do, it will be in Asus category as
S96J is Built on Asus laptop. So, look for me there
BTW, if you look for laptop purchase, take a look at powernotebooks.com as their service outperformance any deals that you will find.
