Question:
Dell Build / Ship Times
My 1405 was ordered on 05/22. It was built on 05/23 and moved into the "Boxing Phase" where it still remains. My quoted Delivery Date for next day is 06/05. What is the deal with the "Boxing" ? The dell support forums state Boxing takes 3 days as the Notebooks are shipped from Malaysia ... but what the he!! ... 6 days ?
Dell usually way under promises ... and I have never waited this long after a system was built to receive it.
Any one else encounter this ?

That doesn't sound right; l ordered mine on 5/28 and it has been already shipped and will be at my house tomorrow.

wtf. my e1505 went into production on monday. boxing on tuesday and its still in boxing. i was hoping it would be here by tomorow but i guess not?

I know! I talked to someone in CS and they only re-itterated that the most recent status is available on line and blah blah blah.

I ordered an Inspiron 9400 from Dell Canada last Saturday (May 27th).
Last Tuesday, I called to know if my order was right and the guy refered me to a guy from India which I could barely hear. He only verified my order, and he said he was gonna send that to production.
Then I verify on the dell site, and it still says my order is being processed. Then I decide to call them back today like 1 hour ago, and the guy tells me that my order will be delayed till the 9th because they have a problem with the dvd drives...
That does not make sense. Why would they have problems with the dvd drives ? I just checked now and it has been updated. It says it had been in production the 29th...
I dunno what to think about that. The guy said to me they will only begin to build my system the 9th so I will not have it at least before another week. Sigh.

I bought a e1505 on the 29 and it was in boxing the last 2 days until only a few minutes ago it has been moved to shipping but, the thing is once it is in shipping It could still a while until it reaches the ups truck or whoever:confused: my est time for delv is tues the 6th thru thursday the 8th

what i can say now, the tracking is more than likely a script of the stages. Your computer was built super fast, and now its making its time up in boxing.

if you're delivery date is 6/5, then there's no reason to be "pissed" until 6/6

This dosn't sound good! A big company like Dell shouldn't get this problems! Not delay for so long time. I was hoping to get my e1505 next friday, but as it seems I can look in the stars for that...

they also over estimate, in case things like this happen. Im sure your going to have it next tuesday at the latest
