Question:
Dell Ulturasharp or Sonys Xbrite
i was wondering in comparision which screen has better brightness, color contrast. if i can get opinions ill know what kinda laptop screen to look for next time.

AFAIK, Sony makes pretty much the best notebook screens around. I have to admit, they are very nice.

I'm going to move this to hardware, so you can get better suggestions. Most users here are probably only familiar with dell.
I've seen both, and to be honest, Sony usually has the best quality screen out of most of the manufacturers IMO. Their screen is always bright, clear, minimal light leakage, etc

Fujitsus are the best glossy screens in my opinion, but they are hard to look at in person unless you have a Frys nearby.

Sony Has the best screens ive seen for brightness and quality, Its true though Fujitsus have very good colour. Dell Screens are middle to low quality in my opinion.

Dell's notebook screens are OK - they're middle ground in terms of quality, but from what I've heard, TrueLife screens tend to be higher quality than the matte screens. Sony's screens are excellent - I'd place them at the top of my list in terms of quality and picture quality. However, I still hold the Toshiba Qosmio's screen at the very top - its screen is unbeatable.

My Dad has one of the first S series laptops for 2+ yrs now and the screen still looks great. Fujitsu has pretty good ones as well. Both Sony and Fujitsu equip their NBs with their own screens while Dell uses 3rd parties like LG.

U sure 'bout that? I heard that (some/all) sony use samsung screen.
