Question:
AsusDVD Popping Up
On my W3v, whenever I accidentally hit the Play button on the left side of my laptop, AsusDVD pops up all the time even if there isn't a DVD in the drive!
I'm guessing this is normal; however, does anyone know how to stop it from happening (other than uninstalling it)? I'm not really watching DVD's on it right now, but I may in the future, so I want to keep it.
Thanks!

Re: AsusDVD Popping Up
hmm, maybe not pressing the play button, but other than that use Hcontrol, maybe you can do something else with that button.
Or uninstall Asus DVD and install VLC, that may alos solve this too.
Let us know how that works.
Thanks,

Re: AsusDVD Popping Up
It's probably exactly what the button is mapped to do. If I press the right button on my Toshiba WMP pops up. It's annoying, but the button is pretty hard to push (in 3 years, it's happened maybe 5 times). If it's something you do alot, I'd remap the button or disable it altogether.

Re: AsusDVD Popping Up
That's the quickplay button for the software - it's HControl's fault. To stop it from happening, you have to disable HControl in msconfig, but then you'll lose all of the buttons.
Just don't push it:)

Re: AsusDVD Popping Up
I have an M9V and the Fast forward, rewind, play and stop keys are right under my left arm when typing so AsusDVD seems to pop up quite a bit when I accidently apply pressure on the keys, I have been told that I can remap the keys using HControl but I haven't had any luck doing so. I think you should just leave it and close HControl and open it again every time you want to use it.
