Re: BIOS Question
I don't have the new generation of laptops nor the 7200rpm HDD, its my 1st time to learn there is a BIOS setting for performance mode and bypass mode! What is your laptop? Is it for power saving during battery operation?

Re: BIOS Question
The modes basically decide what speed your hdd will run at which effects the noise that comes from your HDD. Some users can't stand the HDD being loud, so they set it to quiet mode or disable the performance mode. I don't know how much of a difference you would notice between the two modes.
I have my set for performance mode, but the sound doesn't bother me at all.
