Dell Warranty
I'm considering purchasing an Dell Inspiron notebook and their 4yr accidental damage repair or replacement warranty and would like to know if Dell is trusworthy and will uphold their end of the bargain 4 years down the road.

Personally, i would start out with a 1 or 2 year warranty. The 3 and 4 years are usually overprice, and technology does become outdated quickly. For more options:

no, you only can extend your warranty as long as you are still in a warranty period

You can not extend a warranty after it expires, so if you're going to do it you must do it before it's over. Don't worry though, Dell will probably call you two or three times before your current warranty expires to try to get you to extend it. My current warranty is only one year, I'll probably extend it one more year next spring.

I've heard different things about extending it after the warranty has expired. I know it is alot easier to do it before hand, but Dell might have something like you can renew your warranty within 30 days of expiration.

Be sure to price all of the warranty options out, though. I was able to get the 4-year premium solutions warranty (includes complete care) for about $25 more than a 3-year warranty just last week when I ordered my e1705. It just came in today and WOW!
