Glad to hear that the 512MB is now available. You won't see a difference between it and the 256MB version in most games, only at the highest settings/resolution, just to assure the 256MB Go7900GTX owners that they have nothing to regret. ;)

hahaha, I'm sure you are right. yet with the shipping delay on the wsxga+ screens from sager, I'm regretting not waiting a little longer before ordering. coulda got me a sweet 512 card and skipped all this fretting about when they will ship my pretty new laptop :D

At discount laptops, the 512 comes standard now\. The overall price for configuring the same laptop as I had planned comes to under 100 dollars more. However, if I downgrade to the 256 MB card, it's 200 less than it was. THat's cool.

It looks like the 7900GTX 512mb is the new standard for the 5760 even at Sager official site.
The Base cost at Sager site for the 5760-C went from around $1997 to $2109 (its $2007 at DL where I bought my 5760 and $1956 at PN)
Because Sager is doing this I am guesing all the Sager resellers will have the 512mb as standard now also.
Sager is also adding the Quadro FX 25ooM 512mb the same day the 7900GTX 512mb comes out also for an additional $320.
I really can't wait to see benchmark review of similar specs as my 5760 but with the 7900GTX 512mb.
I hope it is not a huge margin in performance difference so I don't cry for Pre-ordering early and not waiting a month.
But as Chazman stated, it should only matter at higher settings and resolution.
There was already a test on 256mb vs 512mb for the 7800GTX and it shows in that review that Chazman is right on the spot.
The 7800GTX is not that big a difference from the 7900GTX I think so the results should be similar.
From what I saw of the review for the 256mb vs 512mb 7800GTX, the main difference was seen at a resolution of 2048x1536.
the FPS gain I saw was very marginal indeed in resolutions lower than this.

I am sure its just a typo, but the Quadro is the FX2500M :). As soon as it is released we will be conducting a test on the 512MB to see what the difference really is. :D
