bluetooth on 3201XCi
Is there any good way to get bluetooth on the 3201XCi other than the USB card? Is a PC card a good idea?

If there's a port for a BlueTooth internal module, then I'd go that route. This way, everything is internal and nothing to loose/break off.

The 3201xci i bought last week from newegg seems to have bluetooth. Although the driver was not installed when it arrived, i was able to detect it and install the drivers. However, since i dont have any bluetooth device around i cant test if it was just the drivers, or there is really a bluetooth build in.

I don't think they come with Bluetooth by default. The drivers are probably installed, but not the hardware. If you check you device manager, it should be listed there if there's hardware installed.

Just checked with device manager, i got a bluetoth device category and within it it lists Broadcom usb bluetooth device. Ports com4 is also listed with bluetooth. if i recall correctly, my computer was able to detect new hardware when i press the blue tooth button for the 1st time. I remember it was listed without bluetooth, but for somereason it now seems to have it built in. I guess i will borrow some bluetooth stuff from friend next monday to test it out.
i was also able to bluetooth lan server driver is listed under network adapters category. but i think this is just the driver.

Just thought I should post that Acer just e-mailed me and told me it ships with Bluetooth from the factory. Hmm. If this is true, I should get myself one! Can anyone personally verify this, though? I know there's been problems with Acer saying it's 5400 rpm drive vs. 4200 rpm etc...

If it lists this on your device manager, it's a good possibility that you have it installed.

So rjay is the only one to actually use bluetooth on the 3201XCi? I've gotten conflicting info from Acer on this. I need more confirmation from people using the American version of the 3201XCi that have used bluetooth on it. Two people at Acer have said it doesn't have bluetooth. One has said it does. Acer is very confusing... I'd love to get one if I knew it had bluetooth. If not I'll just wait a few weeks and get a 12" PowerBook when the updates come out...
