Dell XPS m1210

Question:
Dell XPS m1210
Just got my new 1210 notebook, and am experiencing it at the moment, i hope i can write some sort of a review basing on some indepth detail of what i have figured to be quite interesting in deciding and living with this notebook.
My config is as follow:
Dual core 1.66
1024MBRAM DDR 667
Hitachi 80GB 7200rpm SATA
Geforce Go 7400 256MB (as shown in my order and 3dmark)
Audigy add on
12.1' LCD Trulife, with webcam
DVD Burner
Windows Home edition
3 years warrenty (too long to explain)
I am currently in Melbourne (AU), but i am from Hong Kong and my parents are still there, so i ordered this notebook online and asked my parents to send it to me.
This may sound weird, as Fedx wasnt exactly cheap, but there was a Dell sale in HK 2 weeks ago, and i got this laptop, with the config above at $HK9950 (AU1722, US1,280, converted with xe.com).
There wasnt much of a choice for me, as this system was a bargin! During my 'research' into laptops, hence i have posted on this site b4, i figured that any systems with this config would cost around $2000 AU, also i was hoping for something small as i need to carry it to uni on a daily basis.
My first impression, on the appearance wasnt exaclty the best. The carbon fibre feeling casing continously retains finger marks, while the keyboard feels as if the paint would come off if used for too long, also the tounchpad is too small. Then, it comes to the classic Dell windows problem, as i started up my new laptop for the first time. The system was and still is packed with 'junk softwares' which is disturbing when u just wanna access the internet and install MSN (i will have to reformat later). Also, being a new laptop the system crashed twice when using the DVD rom (yes, its a dam Sony!). This was extramely disappointing, during the installation process of Fable the laptop vibrated and i could feel it on my desk. This may be a problem with this specific laptop but 'Come on!' i did just spent all my food money on this thing!
However, i am impressed with the interior look, the blue light and the all sliver appearence can match with the Apple. Furthermore, the Webcam is worth a mention; it has a 'face tracking' feature, so if i moved, the cam would follow, also i can change my face into some animals' faces, even with my facial movements (its a weird thing to explain, if someone has a logitech webcam, they would know).
The above is my first impression of this laptop, as i said earlier, i do hope to write a full review, if possible; (as this one is done before).
At this moment i reamin pleased with my purchase.
Hollis:)

This thing is really sweet, I'm sure you'll love it. The only things that kinda bug me are that the camera is horrible in low light and the battery is slightly loose (I'll try and figure out some way to fix it). I was thinking maybe some felt pads could fill the gap. Good luck in Iraq my friend.

Anyway, I thought long and hard about getting the webcam and decided against it since I recently bought a Canon SD700IS. One more thing to carry but it gets the job done... heh. What size battery did you get? I ordered one of each so I want to see if I get the same loose battery results when mine arrives.

It's really slight though so it's not that big a deal.

Re: Dell XPS m1210
i got it from hong kong too :) exactly the same specs except for the HD, where i wanted more space and less battery consuming, hence a 100gb@ 5400rpm ;)
seems like u didn't get that asia-pacific protection thingy too, dell (apparently) will replace your broken laptop with no questions asked. i extended mine to 3 years for only an extra HK$300.
