how to i go into bios?
Its normally a case of pressing either the "Del" or "F2" button on startup. Be careful not to change any of the main settings from the default value, as it may cause problems with the notebook.

Re: media test failure check cable???
Go into the BIOs, and look for a tab that says "Boot Order" or "Boot Order Priority". In therw you will see a number of different devices, in a list. You need to set it so that the hard disk sits higher up in the list, than network option.
The boot devices are those that the computer will scan, and look for an operating system. As soon as it finds one, it will boot of it. At the moment, the computer scans the network before it gets to the hard disk and thats whats causing the messege to come up.

do you meen load setup defaults? thats the only thing i saw out of what you guys suggested. the options at top are main, security, system configuration, diagnostics, exit. i can't find the deselect boot from network anywhere..
