Question:
Hot Spots?
I've had to learn alot of computer info recently, since I began researching laptops in October. I can truthfully say that I've learned MORE about computers since October than I ever have before. I posted in the Fujitsu forum, but I'm in the process of buying a 17" Fujitsu N6010.
I have NO IDEA about this wireless stuff however.
Since I have ONLY a standard dialup account, can I access the Net from a Hot Spot, or am I SOL until I get a broadband account?
Never thought I'd be into THIS stuff!
Answer:
I believe to access hotspots you have to have the wireless card in your notebook and also I think you have to buy a supscription from Tmobile or other hotspot providers. But as far as broadband, verizon and sbc yahoo have good prices with their dsls.
Answer:
if your notebook has a wireless card, you can use a tool like www.wififreespot.com to find wireless access points. you do not need an account to access them. however, if you want access from home, you will need an account to do so.
