Question:
Connected to wireless network, but no internet?????
Here's the deal:
I have been able to connect to numerous networks in the past with no problem. But now I am able to connect to the network, but I am unable to connect to the internet while using my wireless G connection. it is completely ridiculous because I am sitting about 2 feet away from my wireless router I think it may be some thing wrong with the integrated wireless on my laptop. When I open the wireless connection it is showing that I am not receiving 90 percent of the packets that are being sent.
I have attempted to rollback drivers, install new drivers and just about everything else that I know about. I have contacted HP tech support and was provided useless help. So I came here. I really hope someone here can help me because this is extremely annoying.

Does it work when you use a ethernet wire?

Yes it does. No problems with ethernet at all. It is only on wireless.
How do you "ping a router", I have done it before but I am not exactly sure how. I just know you use command prompt to do it.

Okay, I pinged the router and was successful. All packets were sent and recevied with 0 lost. I checked the settings of my router and everything is normal. But I still cannot connect to the internet when using a wireless connection. Any ideas what could be wrong?

ipconfig /all
Compare DNS server addresses while wired then while wireless.
Are they the same?

Sometimes you would need to reset the router. I solve quite a lot of problem by resetting the router.

The DNS Server addresses are the same, but the IP addresses are not. Should they be?
I am still not able to connect to the internet using my wireless connection.

Did you power cycle the router?
