Go to one of the actual mirror sites like this:
http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu-releases/edgy/
And you can download the .torrent file instead.

Not sure, but probably. Ubuntu is pretty good about driver support for all sorts of things. You can boot up from the CD before installing it, so you'll be able to see how much is supported.
You can use Ubuntu's package manager to get other drivers as necessary.
