Is Limewire Safe?
Is there another alternative thats safer? i just recently gt a laptop and i want it to be free from viruses, trojans, etc etc.

*gasp* I'm guessing this is something mods will not let you talk about here. That is unless you're talking about peer to peer between you and a friend transfering a work document. Anything copyrighted is illegal of course. And if it's you and a friend.. just make sure they clean their computer before they infect you by accident

All file sharing programs carry some risk--my advice would to be very careful with what you install and download. Make sure you run A/V and Anti-spyware. Bittorent usually offers faster speeds as well as greater safety.
Ultimately though, you're the last line of defense--be smart.
Just to let you know, illegal downloading is not allowed on this forum, so keep the discussion legal if you want to keep it open.

Limewire is #1 when it comes to fake files and viruses. Many times, you don't get what you want after hours of download time.
