I have no clue. But I know people like Lysander and Twilight have Sabayon experience, and it's the same thing (the way Debian > Ubuntu, so goes Gentoo > Sabayon)

Re: Installing Gentoo
Gentoo is quite easy to install if you are good at following instructions....just grab a copy of the install guide for your platform (probably x86) from gentoo.org, download the install cd and give it a go....another option if you dont want to have to reformat is to test it out in VMware or similar virtual software.
Good luck!

Re: Installing Gentoo
Installing Sabayon is probably easier than ubuntu (And it certainty looks a lot better ;) ). But it does take a while to install (more than 30 minutes in my experience). Once you have Sabayon on your computer its pretty much the same as regular Gentoo, except much more painless on the install process.
If you go pure gentoo, yea....you better have a couple of days. Its kinda complex.

If you go pure gentoo, yea....you better have a couple of days. Its kinda complex. yeah, Gentoo is really for those who want maximum control and configurability...so if you want something which installs in a few minutes ubuntu is a much better choice. However if you have some spare time and are interested in learning more about the structure of Linux, Gentoo is great and teaches you a lot in the process of using it.

"ok, what's next? oh great, I have to compile the compiler..."
