Question:
CD/DVD Burning Software
Other than Nero and Roxio, are there any other decent burning software that focuses more on backup and less on multimedia?

Re: CD/DVD Burning Software
Have heard good things about Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.5. Have not had the chance to use it myself yet so I am not sure how back-up oriented it is, but worth a shot. Definitely not as much of a resource hog as those two.

Re: CD/DVD Burning Software
I just installed ashampoo the other night to copy a data cd. I too wanted was looking for burning software and not an invasive multimedia program. I like Nero, but there is just way to much included in it that I don't want.
As for your question regarding back-ups, in ashampoo the second option on the list is to back-up or restore. The sub-menu gives you the option to do a back-up that can span several CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs or the option to restore from a back-up. I haven't tried it yet but it seems pretty easy and so far this program looks to be exactly what I was looking for.

Re: CD/DVD Burning Software
As much as I love Nero, the package is getting way out of control with 20+ applications, proprietary codecs, NRG image format, and constant updates(bugfix?). Its time for a change.

Re: CD/DVD Burning Software
Is there a free alternative to these DVD burning softwares? I need one that can burn data DVD's and ISO's, would be nice if it could burn everything else... Like how OpenOffice is a free alternative to MS Office.
I wiki-ed it and found this list.
# Infra Recorder
# CDBurnerXP Pro
# DeepBurner Free
# DVD Decrypter (Now discontinued)
# DVD Shrink
# ImgBurn
So, which one is these is the best?
