Re: Hp Laptop Problem recovery Partition
you may be out of luck... but first if you can recover from the partition go ahead and do the recovery. You won't be able to create new recovery cd/dvd so you will have to order them from the HP site. Or if you have the Vista Express Upgrade just boot from the Upgrade Disc and install Vista

a)So you made recovery discs, but have now physically lost the discs?
True And Unable to Find them. They Could Be Created Only Once.
Can order Them From Compaq Site But they ship Only to USA ANd I Am Out Of USA. The Sytem has been Bought From USA from bestbuy store[Physical Store]
b) The recovery partition is still on your HD
Yes Its Still Their.. I have not done any Changes to it..Even C Drive Got The ORIGINAL Files too. Only the Free Space Was Re Adjusted and I made new partitions out of it.
c) You tried to do a reformat using the recovery partition, but it failed?
Yes I Pressed F-11 But It didnot had any effect.. In The Manual its written that F-11 Should Be Pressed As Soon As I Boot But It Didnot Workerd. Even I Tried It Using The Option Available In The Start Menu But It Restarted And Windows Booted In A Usual Way.
d) You made new partitions with 'Partition Magic'? Which btw should be inconsequential
I Created Partitions as soon As I Recived The System. The System Now Need A Reinstallation. I Used Version 8.0 Of Partition magic.

Not Exactly Out Of Luck. Can Install Plain Windows Xp And Download Drivers online But I Want the Original Windows And Features.. Plus Every Thing Like I Bought Brand New.. Their Are Some Features that Are Specifically For Laptops.. Dont Want to Into Hassle Of Downloading/Installing Drivers Again.. Want The Things As Before.. Hp/Compaq Dont Do International Shipping Of Discs. Any Other Site From Where i Can Get It? Their Might be some dealers who would be dealing with it..Can Download the Whole Dvd As Well Since I Am On High Bandwidth. But Who Will Upload It Online..Its Around 7-8 GB.

No no no :D
Start > programs > system recovery* > pc recovery then follow on screen instructions (* or whatever it is called)
It is done from your desktop to restore using the partition. Unfortunately, even if you reformat, the laptop will still think you have burnt recovery discs, so will not let you burn any more (if it is like mine). You can copy discs with Nero to get around this, but since you lost them... I'd look into getting some shipped to you somehow
