Question:
Getting the most out of my Dell e1505
Hi I recently bought a Dell Inspiron e1505 on recommendation of this forum. It runs pretty well but I just don't think I'm getting the power I should.
In mid level settings in Counter-Strike Source I only get around 60-70 FPS.
I have to turn the settings to low as possible to run Call of Duty 2.
I have a Dual Core 2.0 Ghz
2GB Ram
160 GB HD
Radeon Mobility x1400
I'm using the newest ATI drivers, I can't decide if they're better than the omega.
Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean "only".
What windows are you using ?
Also have you turned V-Sync on ?
It's the option that caps FPS at the screen refresh rate (it's a good option. If the FPS goes higher than the refresh rate, the visible screen will be from 2 or 3 different frames, so if you are making a quick move (e.g. rotate 180 degress in a second) you'll notice it.

60-70fps is good. Why complain?
Laptop GPU's normally perform below their desktop counterparts by a fair margin.
I run CS:S all high with 4xAA and AF and it runs great at 40-60fps.

I 'dont like anything under 80 fps to tell you the truth.
I know they perform worse but this was a pretty expensive laptop

ummmm... the human eye can not see over 45 fps, so why are you complaining (some say it is 35 fps, i argue with that)

nah, the game is unplayable under 60, so choppy.
it only gets truly smooth for most people over 100
