hi guys!
is there any software that will crack a password from a .rar file? because i archieved some files a while back and set a password (using winrar) and now i cant remember the password, is there any way i can crack the password or something????

I've heard of a program called Jack the Ripper, but I don't know anything else about it. It might not even be for cracking passwords; generally you can't find such programs via Google!

Perhaps its something of a message if you have gotten a file that is password protected, and you don't have the password. Perhaps getting the password from the owner is a good idea?

I did a bit of searching but didn't find any programs that work for free. .rar uses pretty strong encryption.

Cain and Abel, from an Italian programmer, www.oxid.it really useful to crack almost everything.
The antivirus will tell you its a trojan virus and whatever, but its not, you can read the disclaimer about that in the website, its a clean program but cuz of the way it beheaves the AV thinks its a trojan.
