With so many deciding differently, I decided to make a poll and see how many people... decide differently.

It depends what the software is. Anything from M$ I don't trust. lol
On the other hand I would almost immediately download anything from Mozilla.

I pretty much always get the latest beta version. I tend to stay away from alpha though.

I agree with Tim. For most programs, I update immediately. Occasionally even trying out a beta or two. With new operating systems, I usually wait a few months.

I get the software the moment it is released. And when bugs do occur, i'll have something to occupy my time.

I always wait for the first service pack with microsoft. Most other software I will beta depending on how invasive the install.

i used to upgrade new version (even beta) immediately when they are realeshed and the result is reinstall windows
now i'm not interested in upgrading anymore.So my pc run stable

Depends on the provider.
If it's Micro$oft it's better to wait.They sometimes make radical moves that almost kills user experience.
Then it depends, the beta might carry some features that I really need and the stable release doesn't have.

Some things I don't like to update.. it seems like with the more recent thing then I'd rather not update. Like the recent messengers from M$ and pretty much all other IM's I'd rather use an older version. I'm mostly just to lazy to get the latest updates.

When I know the beta software is stable, I go with that. However, when it isn't (read, Vista) then I shy away from it.
