Cool Program

Question:
Cool Program
I found this just today and it seems like a pretty cool way to launch stuff.
It's called gnome-launch-box. There's a version in the Edgy repos, it's a little old, and the most recent revision is in the Feisty repos. It's apparently based on Quicksilver for MacOSX. Basically you launch the bugger and just start typing in the name of the program you want to launch. It automatically searches your GNOME menus and displays matches to your search string. If you get only one hit, you just hit enter and boom.
Also works with recent file searches, e-mail contacts, FireFox bookmarks...
I still need to define a keyboard shortcut so that I don't need to click a shortcut, but I think I'm gonna make use of this.

Re: Cool Program
Looks nice. I wonder how some features work. Like "Evolution contacts lookup and mail to " and "Firefox bookmarks lookup and opening ". I can't really tell how they are implemented by the photos.

Re: Cool Program
you just start typing the name of a person or website...
if you have computer-notebook bookmarked, just start typing "notebook" and it should pop up.
oh, and escape clears what you've typed, again to close without launching anything

Re: Cool Program
I think you'll find this program in Automatix2, but I could be wrong.
