Question:
How to set up Wep security wireless on Dell E1505
Hello,
I have a Dell E1505 connected wireless to the linksys WRT54GS under WAP and work perfectly.
My boy just got a nintendo DS lite and he also want to share the internet so he can play some games online. Here is the thing: The Nintendo DS only can connect to wireless under WEP sercurity. I was able to set my router to Wep enscrypt to connect the nintendo DS to the net. But I just don't know how to connect my Dell E1505 to wireless connection with WEP.
Can some one show me how.
BTW I have the DELL 1390 Wireless card
TY !

Usually in the quick start area you will see a little icon with bars like a cell phone signal. When you click on that it should prompt you to re-enter your network settings. The problem is that you signed on under your wpa account and its still trying to recognize as such. So you have to change the encryption type to WEP and reenter the key for wep. In the network center in the vista control panel open it up and click on set up network and then set up a wireless access point and it will prompt you from there. In xp control panel click on the wireless icon and do the same thing. Maybe different verbage but the same process applies.

I'm running XP and Intel Prowireless.
Click on the icon at the bottom right.
Click PROFILES.
Click on the profile you are using and hit PROPERTIES.
Make changes there under Security Settings.

You might consider using WPA or WPA2 rather than WEP. WEP is better than no security, but it is by no means secure (it'd take me less than a minute to get connected to your network). Unfortunately, without WEP the DS won't be able to connect. Just something to keep in mind.

hello:
I also have a linksys WRT54GS that I am trying to connect my son's DS Lite to. It is using WEP. I also have MAC filtering enabled and have added the DS MAC address to it the list. The DS can see the router, but it is unable to connect. My router settings show 4 WEP keys. Any suggestions?
thanks in advance for your help...
