Question:
Can you run games like STALKER on a mac using Boot Camp
A friend of mine has one of the new mac books that can use the program "boot camp" to dual boot windows and Mac OSX. He runs emulated arcade and nintentdo games on it, but nothing beyond that. Can a mac using boot camp run the more demanding games like STALKER, or is it just not that simple?

I don't see why not.

Yes, although you're still limited by what the hardware can handle.... so a game like STALKER might push the limits of what the mobile X1600 can handle, for example.
But yes, once you install Boot Camp and boot into windows, it is pretty much just like booting into Windows on any other PC, so it can handle whatever Windows and the hardware can handle. It isn't emulation or anything.

I've got a question about the game stalker self. I hope ya don't mind if i ask my question in this topic: In the game stalker it is possible to change the lightning to static or dynamic on objects or completely dynamic.
If i put that option from static lightning to dynamic on objects only my frames drop from 80 to 30. Is this normal?

yes it is possible.
Yes i'd say it's normal. That lighting stuff is taxing on my 7900gs as well

Also, some MPB's had underclocked X1600s with only 128mb of memory as well, so they might not be as great performers as you might think when you see 'X1600'.

The MBP's being sold right now have normal clocked x1600's.
