Overclocking a dv9000t Core 2 Duo (t5500 1.6)

Question:
Overclocking a dv9000t Core 2 Duo (t5500 1.6)
Hey guys!
I'd like to overclock my dv9000t. I got the "Pacific Breeze" cooler and have been amazed... absolutely amazed by the difference. I'm a computer geek and I've been working on this simulation. Ussually, when I run it, the CPU jumps from 50 to 80+... not good. Now, with the "Pacific Breeze" cooler, I get 70 tops. Even when running the simulation, Opera w/ plenty of Widgets, Counter Strike Source, and scanning using CA in the background.
Seriously, the Pacific Breeze cooled my computer down ~15 degrees.
I already have the graphics card overclocked and now when running source, my gpu only heats up 10-15 degrees. So, I'm wondering about overclocking my cpu. I don't have any heat issues right now, even when running full out (my cpu is running at 52 % and the temperature is only 57 degrees, it idles at around 50 without the cooler). I've searched alot, but I can only find things that either require you to open up your laptop to see the motherboard or go through some setup during boot that I cant find =P.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me,
Coda :D
EDIT: I have a 7600 overclocked to 500/470. That's the max riva will let me. Absolutely no artifacts in 3dMarks06 and once every so often in source.

I don't think you can Overclock your processor. Desktops sure your always able but in notebooks they are locked so they cannot be OC'ed. Alienware however has a special Merom chip which is overclockable and it sells preconfigured in some of it's select notebooks.

I thinkg you can with clockgen which is a windows based overclocking tool. I tried it once on my C2D 2.0 but got a blue screen. You basically have to find the right chipset number or soemthing to get it done if it can be done that is.

Yea, I tried some software for notebooks but it said I needed to open my comp to see what motherboard was in it =(.

Alienware however has a special Merom chip which is overclockable and it sells preconfigured in some of it's select notebooks. It depends. I had an MSI-271 and it was able to be overclocked. However, big corp (dell, hp,) take any capability out to OC. Also, I wouldn't OC a laptop. Their cooling is adequate at best. I'd tell you to upgrade the CPU and keep that at best.

I looked more into it, and I have a i945 motherboard which means I use 9502... However, i can't find this under clockgen.
Are there any other OC programs people use?

Darthc0da,
What temps is your Nvidia GPU running at idle and under load?
What 3dmark03 score do you get?
My dv9000t core duo sucks and get real hot on the Nvidia GPU about 112C to 123C while the CPUs stay cool at 40-50 C. Only gets 2800 to 3000 on 3dmark03 but they dv9000z AMD gets 8600 or so on 3dmark03 and stays at 65-75C on the GPU.
Hp tried to fix it and it is still running hot.
I have the dv9000t core duo with 2 GHz, 2 GB mem, 512 MB Nvidia Gforce GO 7600, dual disk drives.

I don't understand processors aren't supposed to go over 60 degrees and definitely not over 70 degrees thats dangerous 24-7. Where are you getting that your processor is at 80 degrees?
I just can't believe it. My fan turns on at 60 degrees and doesn't let the processor go over 63 (at that point 'medium-high' setting is activated).
Can i see a screenshot of the cpu core hitting 80 degrees?
Nvidia GPU about 112C to 123C Edit: Ok you definitely have wrong readings for sure. Your GPU wouldn't even work at that temperature.

Processors at 71 and 66C GPU at 112C

If you do not like that one how about this one at 123C:

It rests at about 95 to 104C and starts at 62C on a cold boot.
I was using Nvidia Ntune "Perform Stability Tests" under View ->Classic Navigation Pane to generate the GPU load.
On the 10 minute run on a dv9000z it bursts up to 75 and jumps back down to 65 on each refresh. On the dv9000t it just keeps accumulating higher temps in a sawtooth sort of way. It does not cool fast. or at all.
It worked this way from the factory and again now fresh from repair in memphis at HP after replacing some system board stuff that they will not tell me what they did. I asked for a new heat sinc pad and paste for the GPU to help it cool better. Nt sure what they changed during the 5 weeks they had it but it did not fix it. Still too hot and as a result runs gpaghics slow. 3dmark03 ar 2805 when hot, at 4305 if starting at 62C after a cold cold reboot. but second time running 3dmark03 it goes to 2805 3dmarks. All heat related. On a dv9000z it get 8657 and stays cool.
