Boot Guard? (Unchain my BIOS!)

Question:
Boot Guard? (Unchain my BIOS!)
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5610 and after a look at Vista (Preinstalled),it got whacked in favor of Slackware 12 RC1.
It was a really clean install and runs great after the obligatory mucking around in config and .rc files that makes Slackware the distro we all know and love.
My one problem (or more like aggravation) is "Boot Guard". Where Vista showed it as a conflict,LILO wrote over it as "sharing". It seems there is a jumper on the motherboard that enables "Boot Guard". Anybody know it's location and function?

Boot Guard? Never heard of it. There are rarely jumpers in laptops, could it be a BIOS settable function?

It would explain some of the other little nags I've had.
