ASUS G1 - Or other options?

Question:
ASUS G1 - Or other options?
I have been looking at buying a laptop for a little while now, and I am very interested in the G1. The only problem is the price. When I first started looking, i was planning on buying something around $1000-$1400(and that is even pushing it). So basically, I am wondering if there are any laptops out there that are equal to the G1 in performance(or better :) ) that would be in my price range(or closer to it).
What this laptop should have:
1. 6-8 pounds(lighter the better) nothing over 8 lbs because i will be carrying it quite a bit
2. 15.4-17in. screen
3. suitable for games like CS:S, Call of Duty 2, World of Warcraft, Doom 3, and hopefully newer games coming out.
4. Remains bearable temperature even in hot areas(will be using this in a dorm room with no air conditioning)
5. Cool looks is always a plus
If the price range is impossible to fit into with the specs i desire, then please show me the best laptop options for the price of a G1. I definitely want to buy a top end laptop and will pay the extra $400 if needed.

Re: ASUS G1 - Or other options?
This really should be in the "What Notebooks Should I Buy" section or whatever it is called but whatever...
I suggest the Compal IFL90 or the Sager NP2090 they are basically the same system but they are both better than the Asus G1. Since they start at about $1,000 you can add some nice upgrades as well, I suggest 2Ghz processor and 2GB of ram and you can proboly afford that. It has a a very good video card for it's size as well one of the best you will find in a 15.4 inch notebook. The Sager is cheaper than the Compal but the Compal has better warranty. As for looks I think they look great but alot of people have different opinions some of the pics don't show off the nice glossy lid and such and make it look bland:(
A good place to look for it is either xoticpc.com or powernotebooks.com
Hope that helps :D

try out the hp dv6500t, maybe configured with low end stuff, but high end graphics card, you could probably get it for around 1400 bucks
