Question:
Hi signal but internet is very slow
When I try to log on to a wireless network, the signal is strong but the internet is very slow.
This is a wireless network from a construction job site.
Could it be that too many people are logged in?
What can I do to get a better connection?

Update your wireless card/router drivers, there might be interference that's contributing to the slow connection at the site walls, metal, other devices running at 2.4GHz, and as you stated the consumption of bandwidth from users.

Do you know what the internet connection speed is going into the access point? Connecting a dial-up 56k modem to an 802.11g access point doesn't make the 56k connection any faster.

I had a similar issue with poor internet speed and random disconnects (even with high signal levels) when I disabled the wireless assistant software that runs natively at startup.
you might try a reinstall of your wireless management software from whatever OEM made your model.

This is a wireless from work, I know theres a bunch of people using it in the camp, I don't know what speed is dilivered to the router. I do know on my network display, I get sometime 3-4 bars out of 5.
All works fine on my wireless at home. Do you guys think it's because there is alot of users? would a booster help?

A booster increases signal strength. If there are a lot of people on the access point, a booster will not help that.
