Question:
GeForce Go 7950 GTX vs. GeForece Go 7900 GTX
Alright, I'm either buying a Sager 5760 Laptop that has the GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB Ram in it OR a Toshiba Satellite P100-ST9742 that has a GeForce Go 7900 GTX 512MB Ram.
I'm kind of leaning towards the Toshiba since it is a name brand, but didn't know if I would really be compromising on gaming since it has a slightly older card.
I want to be able to play Half Life 2, HL2 EP1 + EP2, Oblivion, and other DirectX 9 games at their highest settings smoothly.
So which laptop should I buy? Is the Go 7950 GTX really all that better or can I live fine with what I want to do with the Go 7900 GTX.

There's nothing different between the two, the 7950gtx is basically an overclocked version of the 7900gtx.
As for the laptops the Sager 5760 is much better in pretty much every way. The build quality, features, upgradability, and screen are much better. If you can pay the extra i'd go for the 5760.

That's personal preference; personally I prefer glossy because brightness and contrast are better. Reflections are not a problem for me.
As posted, you're not going to see a noticeable difference between the Go7900GTX and the Go7950GTX. What exactly is the price difference between the Toshiba and the Clevo?

The Clevo is the better-looking product. If you're willing to shell out a bit more, you'll get a much more high-quality product.
Unfortunately on the P105, Toshiba sacrifices build quality for price reductions.

all of the specs in the toshiba and the sager would be exactly the same in the models i've found and customized.
they would have a:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00Ghz processor
2Gb of RAM
100GB Hard Drive (7200 rpm)
17in 1680 X 1050 LCD screen
the Toshiba's screen in glossy
the Sager's screen is matte
anyway everything else other than screen and graphics card is the same.
the only thing that scares me with the sager is the weight maybe (since it weighs 2.5 lbs more than the Toshiba), being too loud from the fans, and getting a dead pixel or something.
not to be a jerk, but price really isn't a major issue.
here's the thing, i have $2200 in the bank already that has been there for awhile and that i have been using to save up for a laptop. my parents are going to help me out with the rest like $800 - $1000
i can get the sager 5760 with an extra battery with all the specs i mentioned for $2600. i can get the toshiba andd an extra battery with it for $2933. but the other night i asked my dad if i could get a $250 gigabeat when or if we would purchase the toshiba and we was like probably. so i dunno at this point i kind of am leaning towards the toshiba.

*** oh and on the toshiba i'm pretty sure you can't turn off the touch-pad, so would i still be able to hook up a wireless, external USB mouse?
