external Hard drive

Question:
external Hard drive
I just got a Western Digital 500 Gig hard drive, that came with a free case that connects to a computer via USB. (www.geeks.com). I need it for my laptop to put my iTunes songs, movies, and TV shows on because my laptop hard drive is only about 100 gigs. I insert the USB into the port, windows recognizes it, and the new hardware icon appears in the tray, but when i go to my computer to access it and put things on it, nothing appears. so i went to add/remove hardware and it said that it was properly installed and working, even though it clearly is not. does anyone know what i can do to fix this problem/ get my computer to recognize it?

Maybe it's not formatted as of yet.. Go to disk management, under computer management, and check. And if it isn't formatted, do it.
