turning off anti aliasing will give you a big boost in fps

for gpu settings,
turn off AA
go to 1024x768 resolution
turn off all shadows ESPECIALLY SOFT SHADOWS (soft shadow drain performance like a GT40 drains a tan of gas)
then everything else to high or medium
this will look much better then any game running at crap 800x600
you can leave the computer settings at maximum. a t7200 can handle it fine.

Agree with hmmmmmm...........AA kills GPU, if you turn that off, and bump the res up you should be good.......you can also consider OCing your GPU

AF doesn't have as much of an impact on FPS as AA. But I find better resolution fixes what AF does -.-

Overclocking on a X1400 doesn't improve the framerate much, its practically pointless. I raised the clocks from 432/396 to 535/435 and only saw a 6 frame per second increase. Plus it caused my fan to turn on more which means more heat.

As people said: Soft shadows and aa kill fear FPS. In the singleplayer you should have shadows though - otherwise it is not so good.
I also found that anisotropic filtering 2x on my x700 doesn't impact the framerate, but the textures look much better in the distance.
I play FEAR combat at 1280x800 all on medium except lights (minimum) with no shadows and it runs very good (over 50 fps at all times). Overclocked to 480/480
Cheers,
