Question:
Can't detect wireless network
My dad has an encrypted wireless network. Today he tried to set up my laptop (asus z81sp) on the wireless network, but we couldn't even detect the network even though my computer was sitting right in front of the router. My dad's laptop (old pentium 2 fujitsu w/microsoft external wireless card) connects to the network just fine.
Does anybody have any idea why I can't detect the network and how to fix it?

Re: Can't detect wireless network
Try disabling the security and see if you can connect could be that it isn't broadcasting the SSID,the ecncrypted network key will need to be added to your notebook to have access to network, also check your FW settings.

Re: Can't detect wireless network
If ssid is not broadcast it will not showup in the scans, but you can connect it the proper SSID and key was entered. Also check your FW settings, you may have it (subnet) blocked.
