Question:
Free DVD Burning Software???
Hey guys,
I need a free DVD burning program. Something "all-around" would be nice, but i mostly just need to burn data dvd's... and the occasional iso.
Any suggestions?
something bloatware free and doesnt eat a ton of resources. opensource is nice too.
Thanks

Re: Free DVD Burning Software???
There's not a whole lot out there that I'm aware of. I'm pretty sure the command-line cdrecord works under Windows. I only use k3b under Linux any more for my media burning needs, but I've searched quite a few times for that kind of stuff, and have always come up empty. The Windows ecosystem still favors shareware and crapware for utility applications that Windows really should handle itself.

Check out ImgBurn or InfraRecorder. Both are free and should work just fine. But, didn't you get a copy of Nero or something with your laptop?

I wish those sites didn't lump open source software in with "freeware", as they're quite different beasts, the only thing they have in common is that they don't cost money...

I think deepburn has a free version, I'm not sure what it's missing.

Thanks guys,
And no, my computer didnt come with any burning software. It came with absolutely nothing but Stock Chinese Windows XP :P
I guess the upside to that is there was no bloatware to deal with.
