Question:
battlefield 2
does this game have a good single player game play? i know multilayer is really good.
Answer:
Re: battlefield 2
single player is virtually nonexistant. you can set up a "small" sized map with about 16 bots, and that's about it. no storyline or anything like that, as far as I can see (and i've owned the game for a couple years now ;) )
But yeah, multiplayer's really fun.

So its kinda like counterstrike.

^^ Not really... BF is alot more fast paced. More of a run and gun.

Re: battlefield 2
bf2 isn't alot more fast paced, you need to concentrate more to aim and can't strafe as quickly or scope as quickly (reffering to source and the AWP). I wouldn't call any of them run or gun. Unreal Tournament 2004 is more of run and gun. BF2 and counter-strike:source as similar in the way how they have like no single player. BF2 is more open wide open and has more variety in terms of regular gameplay because the maps can be vast and all the vehicles/weapons. The sound is also very explosive too. Counter-strike has alot of variety in its mods.

Re: battlefield 2
bf2 / 2142 are definitely designed to make you feel like you are in the game. they are pretty realistic in terms of how your player physically moves. you can almost feel the weight of your guy as you sprint and jog and such. of course, they both give up realism for good gameplay in several areas, but in general its designed to put you in the game.
counter strike is designed to be a really good game. there are nods to realism, but mostly its designed to be tactical, fast, and fun.

You got it the otherway around, lol.

Re: battlefield 2
maybe. i feel like i am literally covering more ground per second in counter strike than battlefield.
also, the smaller maps in counter strike encourage you to make more daring choices. people who are good at counter strike often elect to use unconventional methods of attack. if you are good, not much is stopping you from using a handgun and going head on against a noob or even moderately experienced player with an assault rifle. in bf2/2142, that is not an option at all.
i guess you can break down pacing into a lot of components. when you die in counter strike, you take a break. when you die in bf2142, there is a good chance you are going to respawn right in the action. the vehicles in bf2142 also give you an opportunity to cover ground quickly.
however, firefights usually take place at medium to long ranges. sometimes being indoors or on the titan forces you into closer range combat.
most all the action in counter strike takes place at close ranges. some of the longer engagements in counter strike are about as long as some of the closer ones in battlefield. the closeness of the fight gives counterstrike a faster feel in my opinion.

i agree, and knifing people is fun. If you want to make CS even faster paced, join one of those de_dust2 deathmatch servers and you'll be constantly in the action. I think that this is one of the best ways to learn how to properly shoot your weapon in bursts because after a while you'll learn what you gotta do to kill.
