laptop video ouput help?
hi,
my laptop has a hdmi output and i like to connect it to my 1366x768 hd ready lcd tv.
problem is the output size on the tv is not perfect. icant see the start button.
im running windows vista and got a dedicated graphics card.
how do i make the ouput size match my screen size?

At least in XP, you would right click the desktop and change the screen resolution of your desktop.
Just drop the size of your resolution until you can see the start button (assuming that Vista doesn't do anything different than XP)

I doubt you'll find the exact res, have to pick the closest one that's slightly smaller.

You mean overscan on your laptop display or your TV? If it's on your laptop display, then there isn't much you can do. It's the compensation for using a screen that has a different aspect ratio. If it's on your TV, you should check the picture settings. You might have 1:1 mapping selected, which means that your TV with map the pixels 1 to 1, as opposed to scaling it up to fill the whole screen.
