Constant Hickuping

Question:
Constant Hickuping
After about a minute or two, my system hickups, and has to catch up with itself. What i mean by this, is it stutters, slows down, then has to kick in to catch up, and it just makes gameplay really choppy. Anny suggestions?

What are you running? Did you install any new software recently. If I were you, I'd clean out the junk and registry (use ccleaner and registry mechanic respectively) and scan for spyware/viruses. If that doesn't help, you could always reformat.

Just installed Vista . . . complete install or upgrade? Either way, I've read about a lot of Vista glitches, IIIM3. Might be driver incompatabilities with the OS or maybe not enough RAM in your system - Vista seems to need quite a lot. Also, your problem isn't quite clear to me. Are you having problems only during game play, or with your system in general? If only while playing games, I'd think you probably have a driver problem between your video card and Vista, especially if all was well prior to installing the new OS.

If you want to play games decently, "upgrading" to XP is the best possible solution for now.

Yes, however, after 1 year maybe, all Windows XP will be obsolete in retailer stores and online purchasing, it'd be all vista.

Re: Constant Hickuping
Sounds like overheating, cause sometimes when you're overheating the gpu or whatever will slow/stop itself for a second to get the heat down. .
