I am planning to order a new dell Insprion 1520 but i only see that it comes with vista, is there any way that I can call them to say I want a home XP edition?:o

i know I can call them but is this possible that is all I am wondering. I mean I can always order a Vostro that I can configure with a XP but I'd rather get a Inspiron. Does anybody have experience as of lately with this? Because I know I can't find anything on their website that says you can exchange vista for xp.

Looks that way, but maybe someone else can help. Also I did not have an invoice # and threaten to cancel. But if they sell it to you they have to support and that is the only reason I can think as to why, Doris did not seem to understand why that is a problem, they have made them with XP she said.

The thing is they still sell XP systems but only on Inspiron 1501 which is a really crappy computer.

I agree but the second sentence spells it out! If they sell it they have to support it! So you are the one guy who calls there un-support staff, how are they going to run an emulation to help you? Also Dell and MS sleep together so they are trying to shove Vista down your throat!:cool:
