Answer: Kaspersky Labs consistently gets the very highest detection rates in all major tests, often over 99% percentile. In addition, the updates are HOURLY 24/7 so there's nothing that can be as fast to respond to latest variants. My 30 day trial has been flawless, very unobtrusive yet powerful protection. It gets my subscription money. Personally, I don't think free virus protectors can put in the effort needed to stay on top of the rapid and ever-changing virus threats.

Answer: Norton AV seems hogging my system more and more , adding new processes , want online access to delete a file , its too much .
I too had Norton since the first days but now think of moving to another lighter program .
Answer: I have Norton as well, and I too am not happy with how demanding it is. I don't feel comfortable using a free one, for reasons already stated. It just doesn't seem like a permanent solution. I'm sure they are good, I haven't used them, but I like to stick with the big guys. The only time I could imagine myself using AVG would be if I just got a new computer or reformatted an old one and didn't have an antivirus suite to use right away.
Answer: I'm using Norton Corporate Edition, and it doesn't hog any resources. At times you feel that there is nothing protecting you. But I haven't had any infects in the last 6 years, so I'm happy.
Answer: right now i am using symantec antivirus client. i get it free from my school, which is nice. to be honest, i dont think i have ever had a virus on my computer, except for the one i downloaded to see if the antivirus works hehe.
