Question:
How will my system handle these games?
You guys may have seen many many of my recent posts about my new system that I ordered. From what everyone's told me so far about it I think I'm going to absolutely love my new system. I want to ask you guys a few questions though. Below I'm going to list a few games that I'd like to play can you guys tell me how my system will handle them and what FPS I can expect.
My System:
(I believe it should be listed in my sig but just incase)
-2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo (800Mhz, 4MB) (Santa Rosa I believe)
-256 MB 8600M GT
-7200 RPM hdd
-2GB Ram
-Vista Home
Games I'd like to play:
-Oblivion (& mods)
-HL2 (& mods)
-Two Worlds
-Crysis
-Quake 4 (& mods)
-Doom 3 (& mods)
-Do you think I'll be able to handle Starcraft 2 (I know it's not released yet)

From what ive heard.. every thing maxed out with the exception of Crysis, which would have to be medium or lower. But, get some other peoples opinion though.

The games you listed should play well on the specs you listed. Crysis should play okay. Starcraft II I wouldn't worry about; Blizzard is very good at keeping system requirements low.

Thanks guys. When you say Crysis should play ok if I set it to low-medium settings will I at least get 30+ fps?

Alright, here goes: On your DDR2 version of the 8600m GT, you will be able to play:
HL2-Maxed
Oblivion-Mid-High
Two Worlds-Donno, not out yet, but guess Mid-High
Crysis-Mid DX9
Quake4-High
Doom3-?Max?
Starcraft2-Donno, not out yet, guess Mid
Hellgate London-Donno, not out yet, guess according to Gamespot Forums: Mid.
All based on playability, aka at least an average of 30FPS

hah. people talk about star craft 2 and i feel like they didn't actually look at it.
it doesn't look to be very intensive. expect WoW style hardware requirements (low).

Hellgate london is suppose to be extremely scalable and support DX10, so mid DX10, high DX9. Even low end systems are suppose to be able to play it alright.
