Encryption
My laptop was recently stolen, so I want to know what encryption options I have for my data.
I want encrypting software that is easy to use, easy to backup the key/password so I can use the encrypted data on a different computer or in case I have to reinstall windows, and allow for minimal performance hit.
How would having a fingerprint reader and TPM help?

TrueCrypt is perhaps the most secure program available to the general public. Besides that, it's also open source, and free. Personally, I use Folder Lock, but that's only because I got it for free, and it provides basic password protection/encryption, which is all I really needed.
