Question:
Cannot get tty terminal
I am running kubuntu 7.04 on a dell XPS M1210 using the restricted Nvidia drivers. Whenever I use ctrl+alt+<F Key> to go to a tty terminal is just sits at a blank screen. I am able to do ctrl+alt+<F key> when kubuntu is booting and see the boot messages but it seems that once X is launched I cannot fall back. Thanks for the help.

What F key are you using? ctrl+alt+(F1->F6) should get you a terminal, and ctrl+alt+F7 should get you back to the X display. Works with both my desktop and laptop, both using the NVIDIA drivers (nvidia-glx-new package)

None of the F1 through F6 work. F7 does return me to the X display. Maybe it has something to do with my the kubuntu battery manager. As far as I know it locks the session when I close the lid and when I flip to a tty session. Nevermind that wasn't it.

Maybe it has something to do with the multiple logons setting. I think I saw it somewhere but I forget where it is...hahaha, I'm a newbie at linux, so it'll probably take me days to find it again.
BTW I use Ubuntu, so things will be in different places for Kubuntu...
