Is DDR2 better than GDDR3 in 8400 GS?

Question:
Is DDR2 better than GDDR3 in 8400 GS?
I called up the dell rep and explained to him that i was told the XPS M1330 has the exact same RAM type in the graphics card as Vostro 1400 yet on the site it says the 8400 GS in the M1330 has GDDR3 and and the Vostro 1400's 8400 GS has DDR2. I wrote an email to Dell complaining that i got an inferior graphics card in my Vostro 1400 than the M1330 even though i was told they are the same and then Dell phoned me up.
They said that the 8400 GS DDR2 version (Vostro 1400) is better than the 8400 GS GDDR3 version (M1330). Is this true?

probably not. you would have to know the clocks to verify. i doubt it though. 95% they are lying bast@*%$.

Where can i find out the clocks?

GDDR3 > GDDR2 by a far margin, and the 8400 GS would have to be pretty poorly designed for the DDR2 version to be better.
As long as it's the same amount of GDDR3 RAM as DDR2 RAM, the GDDR3 will win.
And depending on the graphics options you turn on in games, half as much GDDR3 memory can still beat out DDR2 memory.

Dell might be lying to you. Might need someone who owns a 1330 to confirm the clock speeds just so you have straight facts.

all that matters is the clock speed. its possible that they are the same, which would mean the cards are equivalent. its not likely but its certainly possible...
gddr3 is not inherently better than ddr2.

Even if the clock speeds are the same, you can get much more out of overclocking with the GDDR3 version.

Wow thx guys. so basically instead of DDR2 being better than GDDR3 its GDDR 3 thats better than DDR2?
Also if someone with a M1330 can confirm the clocks as i already know the DRR2 (vostro 1400) clocks.

Manzi, I don't want to encourage double posting...but try looking in Dell forums to see if anyone has them posted there already.

Yeah ofcourse ill look there now.
Edit: In the link is the XPS M1330 review but in the confusing part where all the clcoks etc is discuseed i dont know whichare the stock clocks can someone please take a look and tell me as im a total noob to all those 3dmark type programs :(
