**The Official "Can My Notebook Run It?" Thread**
Ok everybody, on NBR forums I tend to check this gaming message board the most, and it seems like every other topic has someone asking whether or not they can run a certain game on a certain notebook/laptop/pc. Personally I think this is ridiculous because chances are their question has been asked in a similar fashion before. So this is it, the

If you would like to know how your system will run a certain game just post here like this:
Game: ________
Specs: You can post them or say "In sig" or something of that nature. Just for reference usually the most important information would be your CPU, GPU, RAM, and driver version for the GPU if you know it
Preference: This is how you would like the game to run. Low, med, or high settings, or if it doesn't matter you could leave it blank.
Example:
Game: Half-Life 2
Specs:
Intel T7300
2GB RAM
nVidia 7950GTX 512MB x2
Preference: Highest settings, AA, AF maxed
^ something like that

I hope people will make good use of this topic, there are plenty of experts on here who are very knowledgeable about games. Oh and a sticky would be very appreciated:D

Re: **The Official "Can My Notebook Run It?" Thread**
Let's give it a test run :)
Game: Company of Heroes
Specs: Window Vista, T7300, 3GB DDR2 667, 8600m GT 512mb 163.16.
Settings: DX10 and whatever.
Note: I think you might want to have people give the OS, for nothing else if issues with installing/games that don't run well on some OSes. And my post is just a test, I know the answer, but let's see what I get as a response, plus I'm sure someone else might like to know :)

ok i have a thing to sorta add to this thread...but anyways here goes...
if you are wondering whether or not your computer can run a game, you can also check out www.systemrequirementslab.com. there the website runs something onto your computer...well you download it with your permission...and then choose what game you want to see your computer can run, and then it will show you how your computer will perform with the minimum requirements and recommended requirements

*bump*
In the first 2 pages there are 6 separate topics about if and how well a laptop will run a game, so i felt this needed a bump.

thanks Oblivion you might have to go down to Low/Med settings for that.
FEAR, again more like Low/Med.
Doom3, HL2, and Fahrenheit you could probably play maxed, but not with AA/AF, but no harm in trying it.
I don't know about Acts of War personally, but I am going take a guess and say High is possible.
Prey, you might be able to bump it up a bit, since it is the Doom3 engine, but it's been optimized better then Doom3.
If nothing else, everything will run at least on Med at 25+ with no AA/AF. You'll have to play around a bit in some of the games for the sweet spot.
With 8600m GT, I can play all of those, except for Oblivion, nearly maxed out, usually with at least some AA/AF at 30+.
Edit: By the way, thanks chesi, you were right on the money.
