Confused About Laptopvideo2go

Question:
Confused About Laptopvideo2go
Ok, I understand that the drivers on the website are made for desktops and through modified INFs they can be made to be used with laptops. But my questions regard to the naming and classifications of the drivers.
Why are there different series? Such as the 160 series or 100 series drivers? What is the difference?
How do I know which drivers are newer? By the date or the number? For example 165.01 came out in april yet 163.16 came out last week.
Then finally, do newest drivers necessarily mean best performance? If not, which driver would be the best for the 8600M GT performance?
Thank you

Re: Confused About Laptopvideo2go
163.16 is the newest driver. yes typically the newer the driver the better the performance and stability. Its kind of a trial and error until you find a driver that you like. I hear the 163.16 work great.
Differences are basically optimization nvidia does to enhance performance as well as fix bugs with certain games to prevent crashes and such.

Typically over at laptopvideo2go.com you go by date rather than number. IIRC 165.01 was some sort of "leaked" beta driver but I found that it brought terrible performance. Just go by date and you should be fine.
