I'm looking into buying an external hard drive, but I'm wondering about the drive speed. My laptop has a 5400rpm drive, but It's fine for gaming. I'd rater get an external 5400rpm drive, because there much more portable. Will games be slow on it?

It'll be horrendous unless you use eSATA. USB2 and Firewire 400/800 are really slow, even compared to PATA.

You mean you want to install your games onto it and run them from the external HD? That would be very slow. External HD's are best for storage.

as it matches yours well and Lacie plays well with Mac OS X.
Use Google checkout and you can get it for $78. I just did that about 30 minutes ago, I plan on using mine to store my DVD collection converted to H.264 .mp4 files and use it as the storage library on my Xbox 360.

yes it will be slow since the "travel speed" between usb and hard is limited...
it is recommended for storage but not really for gaming
