Can't seem to connect to my router...help pls

Question:
Can't seem to connect to my router...help pls
Hey, I bought a Buffalo router...and when i have it open i can connect just fine but when I have it passworded, it doesnt just bring up the usual "password" box.
when i try to connect to a wireless secured network it says "Enter Credentials" and a box that has "User Name" , "Password" and "Logon Domain" comes up....i can't figure out what my user name and password is and it won't let me connect to my router..how do i get that info or what can i do?
I have Vista and ASUS G1S computer. I'm just not sure how to get past this stage in the connection. Any help would be nice. Thanks

Try using WPA2 or WPA, it's been reported on most routers that Vista does not work with WEP.
Connect using a wired connection for setting up the router. You may/will be required to enter Administrator password to setup the G1S.
