Question:
Get Rid Of "Shorcut Arrow Overlay" on XP & Vista Icons.

If you change ICOs your self (As I do), then you only need to download the first link, which is a Blank ICO.
Otherwise do the reg patch too. (I can't vouch for the reg-path since I haven't tried it)
For Vista just download the "Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover" on that page. Choose between 32 & 64 bit version.
You don't need the Blank ICO or Reg edit.
Now you ICONS can look NICE. :D

I believe this is a setting buried within XP and Vista which is enabled by default. You can turn it off using TweakXP, and I'm sure there are ways to find it without a utility as well.
I do know that when I created my latest slipstreamed XP install, and went through the new settings in nLite, that was one of them.
Good find tho!

Download TweakUI from Microsoft. There's one version for XP. If they've released the one for Vista, it will be available separately.
Great program, free, and gives you control over a number of things, including the annoying shortcut arrow.

That's the one I was thinking of, sanpabloguy! :) I couldn't quite remember the name, though. It is a very nice arrangement of Windows settings to play around with. I'm all but sure they've released a Vista version at this point.
