Question:
Another ? on wireless
Hi,
If you already have 802.11g wireless card in your laptop is an adapter required? I have one but I can't seem to install the CD on my desktop, however have not tried on my laptop! Also is a Belkin 802.11g wireless router a good router? I've read several polls and found decent opinions and also found that is comes with unlimited warrenty. Any info once again will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks So Much,
Snoopy

Re: Another ? on wireless
Most wireless routers are fine, honestly they all do the same things and if you're nearby, they all perform similarly. I prefer Netgear prodcuts, but to each his own.
As for the other thing, if you have integrated wireless you don't need anything else. Are you tring to install the software that came with the router? You can do that on your notebok, but plug into the router with a cable, the install process requires a few resets that make doing it over wireless a pain.

Re: Another ? on wireless
I use a Linksys Wireless router. It wooks good. I think this happends to all wireless routers, but every now and then there is a little lag when surfing the web or something. The internet looses mbps and then it jumps back up even though the signal is Excellent.
Not sure if this happends with netgear products, but im sure it's just a technology thing, nothing is perfect yet.

I like Linksys too. Mainly because there are so many cool hacks for it. You actually don't even need any CDs, just use the Windows XP Network Wizard.
