Question:
Bluetooth phones, transfering files to bluetooth notebooks
I have an Asus W3v with internal bluetooth. I can get my cell phone (Motorola E815) to connect to the bluetooth manager. Then it tries to use turn it into a modem or something.
So I tried right-clicking on the Bluetooth manager Icon in task bar. Then clicking on "wireless file transfer", but I can't get it to find my phone from their even though it can find it on the Bluetooth connections.
What I want to do is take pictures from my Phone to my computer, without E-mail, and take Mp3 from my computer to my phone without any wires. That was to my understanding what bluetooth would do with the computer, you would be able to share files.
Does anyone have a link to a guide or anything I can use, i've looked on the bluetooth site but can't seem to find anything?

I'm sure it does, but you want to make sure your machine and the phone support the object transfer profile. You should be able to connect to the phone, then browse it just like a drive. Do any of the other features work like business card transfer?

I'm note sure what business card transfer is?
The Program window that is opened up is called "Bluetooth Information Exchanger". It has three icons: File Transfer, Image Transfer, Object Push.
I Checked too if I saw my phone as a drive listed on My Computer, and it's not. So im guessing im just not connecting my phone correctly.

When you go to look at your Bluetooth devices, can you right click on the phone and do something like discover services? Each stack is a little different...

No the only option i have is to connect, disconnect, delete, detail, create shortcut to desktop, rename and change icon.
Those options come up when I click on the phone from the Bluetooth Settings menu, when it list the phone as a Connection type.

try mobiledit (www.mobiledit.com) or replace your toshiba bluetooth stack (a POS imo) with the widcomm one

I downloaded the mobile edit. I don't know if anyone else uses it. But when I went to connect to my phone, it didin't find it, even though I had my phone set on "Discoverable".
So I went to file/settings, and clicked on the phones tab. I looked under motorolla phones for the E815 and it wasn't listed. I clicked the update drivers link, and it takes me to the Download Mobileedit page.
Motorola E815 There is the link to the phone's information, is it because the phone has only been out for a month? That nothing seems to support it, that doesn't make sense.

wow.. nice phone.. makes me wanna trade in my V551.. and I just got it, lol
If it's only been recently release, then I guess you'll have to give mobiledit some time to get it into their software -_-
that said, try using the widcomm stack over the toshiba one:
instructions on replacing the stack are there. Keep in mind i forgot to put in that you have to replace a few files. If you're intersted, PM me for details.

I see that your phone uses a memory card, could you just transfer the files via that card? You may need to get a card reader for your laptop or regular PC.

Yea, they have the USB 2.0 High Speed reader for the phone, I was just hopping to be able to do all that wireless with the bluetooth. Guess I'll have to get the cords and wait till they update their drivers with my phone in it. :)
