Connect problem of FS620
found connection problem .
my router is robotics 8054 connected with 2 wired desktop, 1 wireless desktop
and this wireless laptop.
last 3 days already found connection is off for 2 - 4 min /each time.
every hour it happens few times. very annoying. when there is no connection,
the status bar showing connecting ....
then i will use windows xp REPAIR function to renew ip address. it showed
connection is excellent and ok. but connection still not go through.
at the beginning i though my router has problem

Re: Connect problem of FS620
Start by getting the latest router and wireless card firmware updates. If that doesn't resolve it, you can try giving the machines dedicated IP addresses. You might want to do this with the machines that dome move anyway, that might help resolve any IP conflicts.

Re: Connect problem of FS620
after 2 days testing,i find that if i left the laptop for a while, the laptop power-saving function would turn off the laptop. then when i turned on again,
1st 1 - 2min connection was ok then speed was slower. and connection was dropped. and no more connection . ( but REPAIR on xp showed connected.message said connection is ok to go.)
then i restarted the laptop and connection speed is back to normal.
is it normal ?? please help.

Re: Connect problem of FS620
I personally, and my brother as well, have found that the US Robotics routers bite the big one!!!! I couldn't get it working whatsoever for a few days after buying it. Even after getting a replacement unit, still nothing. Same thing with my brother. I switched back to my SMC router and it worked like a charm. My brother finally ended up with a Linksys.
I'd say it's a problem with the router itself. You may want to try disabling all security (as a test) and see if it helps. It could be one if it's security settings causing a compatibility problem. Also, enable SSID broadcasting as some cards will not work properly without this option enabled.
Good Luck!
